2024 Chardonnay

For the person who thinks they don't like Chardonnay — you probably haven't had one from cool-climate Tasmania yet. This isn't the buttery, oaky style that gave Chardonnay a bad name in the 2000s. It's bright, tightly focused, and genuinely elegant.

Stone fruit and citrus blossom lead the way, with crisp acidity and a fine mineral streak underneath. It spends 11 months in premium French oak, about a third of it new, which adds depth and length without ever taking over — the fruit still does the talking.

Drink it now with roast chicken, pan-fried fish, or a simple pasta with cream or butter — or tuck a bottle away, because this one has the structure to age gracefully over the next few years if you're patient. It suits people who enjoy a wine with a bit of thought behind it, and it's a strong choice for a dinner party where you want a white that can hold its own against food.

What sets it apart: it's grown on a single site on the Cradle Coast, one of Tasmania's coolest and most maritime-influenced pockets, which is exactly the kind of place that produces Chardonnay with this much precision. This release is a true small batch — just 870 bottles made.
